Our older patients often have need of more extensive dental work. Senior dental care is often more involved than it is for our younger patients due to a lifetime of wear and increased use of medications. However, older patients can still expect to have strong and healthy teeth with the right care and treatment.
Here are a few of the procedures and conditions common for older patients:
-
- Porcelain Veneers – Porcelain Veneers allow a patient to get more attractive and whiter smile. Misshapen or discolored teeth can be covered by permanent veneers. Veneers can correct a single tooth or improve all of the teeth in a smile.
- Dental Implants & Bridges – Dental Implants are appliances permanently attached to the jawbone. They can replace a lost tooth and dental bridges can “bridge” the gap between missing teeth. At HighRise, we use a 3D technology to to make placing implants a safe, fast and more predictable experience for our patients.
- Dentures – Dentures are a popular choice following loss of several teeth where a bridge cannot span the distance and will allow the face to maintain its structure. With dentures, patients are to be able to eat and enjoying food again. Dentures can be custom made and fitted in a short period of time and many insurances cover the cost, or most of the cost of dentures.
- Endodontics – Endodontics is known as a “root canal” and removes an infected portion of a tooth, cleans out the inflamed and damaged area and then fills the space with clean comfortable material. Root canals are one of the more common procedures performed at HighRise Dental, and sedation dentistry can be used for this procedure.
